Choreography The actual choreography consists of the following elements: the unpredictable dynamics of the place, the movements of the people in that place (independent singular movements as well as simultaneous movements of a number of people, when gett-ing off buses or escalators for instance), the controlling of the actors’ actions, the actions themselves as well as the actions/ reactions of every individual (actors and passersby). With our technical equipment, which can also transmit music, move-ments that are supposed to follow a timeline can be exactly synchronised. In this way, simultaneous actions can happen without visual contact and in any far-flung corner of the perform-ance location. Just as well, however, can a choreography in the classical sense arise: all actors are standing close to each other and move absolutely synchronously without the spectator being aware of any background metronome or beat. |
